About Robot Ops

Enterprise-grade automation, in reach of every plant.

We're a team of robotics, computer-vision, AI, and software engineers who've built automation and agentic systems at enterprise scale. Robot Ops exists to put those same tools in the hands of small- and mid-size manufacturers.

What we believe

Machine vision and agentic AI are powerful, and genuinely hard to get right. The tools are new, they change fast, and the failure modes are subtle. A system that isn't designed carefully can create as many problems as it solves. Our job is to help you choose, design, and implement the right one for your parts and your floor.

We build it to work with your people, not around them. The system takes on the roles you can't fill and the repetitive checks nobody wants, so your crew spends their time where judgment actually matters.

We move one station and one workflow at a time, around the equipment you already run. No rip-and-replace, no line overhauls. We adapt to your floor, not the other way around.

Above all, we protect quality. Every engagement starts with a study, not a sales pitch, and is scoped against a real payback. You end up with open, standard components, full documentation, and a system you own — one anyone competent can maintain.

who we're for

Built for plants the big integrators overlook.

Small- and mid-size manufacturers across the mid-Atlantic and New England: the regional and independent plants making metal, plastics, food & bev, and everything assembled in between. We deliver end-to-end systems built to last, and stay on after the install.

Kristoph Matthews
a note from the founder

I've spent my career building technology at the seam between software, hardware, and infrastructure: Northrop Grumman, the Fraunhofer Institute, NASA, and a supply-chain startup of my own. Across all of it, the part I kept coming back to was the same: how that technology meets the real people and real work on the other side of it.

I founded Robot Ops to build practical software for robotics and automation, starting with TraceHouse, an observability platform for robotic fleets, and ROSQL, a query language for the data robots generate on the factory floor. Working alongside those customers, one thing became clear: what they needed most was help raising quality and growing with a labor market that keeps getting tighter. That pushed us toward machine vision and agentic AI systems.

Our customers are regional manufacturers with a genuine focus on craft, quality, and growth. Get in touch — and if you're nearby, come by or we'll come to you. I'd like to hear what you're up against, or just talk shop.
